Medical Marijuana Policy

The provisions within Arizona Revised Statutes §15-108 prohibits any person, including a medical marijuana cardholder, from possessing or using marijuana on the campus of any public university, college, community college or post-secondary education institution.

Additionally, growing and using marijuana remains a crime under federal law, and federal legislation prohibits any institution of higher education that receives federal funding from allowing the possession or use of marijuana. Northern Arizona University continues to enforce its current policies regarding controlled substances and any students or employees who violate university policy prohibiting the use or possession of illegal drugs on campus will be subject to disciplinary and criminal action.

General policies regarding controlled substances may be found in the Student Handbook or Human Resources's Personnel Policy Manual
