Connecting to Dana with Fetch

Dana is one of several web servers that provide individual web space for NAU students. The connection to the Dana server is outlined below.

First, you must currently be a Student. If this is the case, follow these steps:

1. Connect to the NAU VPN

2. Open Fetch

Fetch is only available on Mac operating systems.  After you have installed Fetch, you can easily find it by typing in Fetch in the Spotlight located on the upper-right corner of your screen.

3. Enter the New Connection information

Enter the New Connection information:


Username:Your NAU User ID 

Connect Using: SFTP

Password: Your NAU Password

4. Click connect

When you have entered this information, click Connect. 

5. Navigate to Public_html

After you double click on public_html, you will be able to put files and folders from your computer to the server and get files and folders from the Dana server.

6. Access the file online

To access the files and directories online, enter, where abc123 is your username. Then type in the file name. For example,
