Assessment design

The assessment design should:

  • describe who and how many will participate in the assessment
  • describe the process for selecting participants
  • include information about demographics and incentives relevant to the assessment
  • provide clear information about participants relative to degree program students
  • discuss pros and cons of the assessment design (participation issues, issues evaluating data quality, such as validity, inter-rater reliability, etc.)

The department should ensure that the majority, if not all, faculty (as defined by the department) should review and discuss the assessment design prior to its implementation.
