Gery Allan is the Director of the Environmental Genetics and Genomics (EnGGen) laboratory. His research employs a range of genetics and genomic-based techniques to address questions in plant ecology and evolution. Lela Andrews is the EnGGen Facility Manager and a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Biological Sciences. Lela manages the day-to-day use of the Environmental Genetics and Genomics (EnGGen) laboratory. Her research interests include prokaryotic and eukaryotic microbiomes found at the plant-soil interface, plant population genetics, and the responsible application of genetic modifications for improving ecological sustainability. She also enjoys developing new methods and protocols for addressing genomic-based research questions.
