She was the recipient of the NAU Alumni Association’s Jeff Ferris Alumni Achievement Award for Volunteerism in 2004 and the recipient of the President’s Achievement Award in 2011. Favorite NAU memory?
Nancy: Serving in the Kayettes Women’s Service Honorary for 3.5 years. It was awesome to work with other women to give back to our campus and Flagstaff communities. I made lifelong friendships and learned so much about leadership, teamwork and giving back. My favorite project was making Thanksgiving dinners each year to deliver to seniors and others in need.
Favorite thing about working for your alma mater?
Nancy: I am passionate about NAU and the educational opportunities and amazing student experiences we provide. I feel very fortunate to have earned my undergraduate education at NAU; I have never stopped supporting NAU and its mission. From the time I graduated to the present, I have been involved as a donor and a volunteer ambassador, through board participation, student recruitment and other opportunities to serve. I was delighted when the opportunity arose 6 years ago to come to work for my beloved alma mater. I believe in NAU and I have been told that I “bleed blue and gold.”
Favorite professor or class?
Nancy: I had 3 favorite professors, Dr. Katharine Nutt (History), Professor Jerry Ladhoff (Criminal Justice) and Dr. Doug Degher (Sociology).
