Lumberjacks have been represented in every summer Olympics dating back to 1984. NAU student athlete Angela Chalmers, six-time all American and 1986 NCAA women’s cross country champion, is our university’s only medal holder (so far). She won the bronze for Canada in the 3,000m at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

Lopez became the first Lumberjack to represent the United States in the Olympics when he competed at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, China, where he was also chosen as the Olympic flag bearer for the USA for opening ceremonies.

True Blue NAU spirit is alive and well in the heart of downtown Flagstaff. The new "True Blue NAU" mural by local artist "Mural Joe" (aka Joe Cornelius) is slated to be completed by the start of the school year. Brian White, '95 BS, is one of the project's key investors, along with the True Blue NAU committee and the Northern Arizona University Foundation. Read more about the project in THIS recent story in Flagstaff Business News. Mural Joe is making videos of the project as part of his process. Watch the latest:
