Statistics

Academic Computing supports a number of statistical programs running on a select number of platforms. The platforms include Unix, Microsoft Windows, and the Macintosh. For news about stats on campus you may click here.

Site Licenses

NAU currently has two site licenses for statistical packages that may be installed on faculty, staff and departmental machines. If you are interested in either a SAS or SPSS license please click here.

Students may also acquire stats packages for use on their personal machines. NAU offers SAS for student use on the campus license. If students require the use of SPSS for their classes, they may either use SPSS on Jan, Dana, or on one of the ITS lab machines. If you require the program for your personal computer click here .

General Information

Academic Computing also assists in survey processing and Faculty evaluation processing. ITS is able to supply (for a nominal charge) scan forms that you may employ in your survey based research. This will allow you to have the answers computer tabulated instead of doing manual entry. The data may then be used with the various statistical packages at NAU.

If you are interested in joining a mailing list devoted to the use of Stats at NAU please click here.

Academic Computing also provides programming libraries that you may use for building custom applications.  These libraries are to be used at your own risk.  For information on the libraries click here.

If you have any questions regarding statistical processing at NAU, call the ITS help desk at 523-1511.
