Certification and Licensing Exam Information

ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) For specific dates, check the Testing Calendar. For registration and test information, contact ASE: 1-877-ASE-TECH

AzEIP (Standards of Practice Tests) is offered at the Counseling & Testing Center.

  • To register, go to www.nau.edu/ihd/asdtp/ .
  • After registration, call or stop by CTC to schedule an appointment.
  • Provide CTC with the following information:
    • The section(s) of the test registered for
    • Name and unique ID number as printed on the admission ticket.
  • Candidates will be scheduled for the following time allotments based on the section(s) they will be taking.
    • Section 1: Child Development - 2 hours
    • Section 2: Families - 1.5 hours
    • Section 3: Assessment - 1.5 hours
    • Section 4: Planning and Intervention - 2 hours.
  • Only two sections will be scheduled per testing day. These exams are paper based and have flexible start times.
  • Photo Identification (Driver License, Military ID or passport) and admission ticket are needed for check-in.
  • All questions about test content, preparation, and scores can be addressed by the IHD department at (928) 523-7031 or (928) 523-7037.

CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) To request information or registration materials, contact the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing at 1-888-624-3248.

DANB (Dental Assisting National Boards) For test information and registration, contact the Dental Assisting National Board: 1-800-FOR-DANB.

DHNB (Dental Hygiene National Boards) For more information and registration, contact the American Dental Association.

NBCC (National Board of Certified Counselors) For test information and registration, contact the National Board of Certified Counselors: (336) 547-0607.

NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards) To register to take the NBPTS, contact the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

PRAXIS, teacher proficiency and pre-professional skills assessments, include the Computer-Based PRAXIS I: Academic Skills Assessments (CBT). To register for the ETS computer-based version of the PRAXIS, call ETS at 1-800-772-9476 or (609) 771-7395. The paper-and-pencil Pre-Professional Skills Tests in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics and PRAXIS subject tests are also offered several times per year at Northern Arizona University.
