Internship Components


The internship consists of four parts and the students will earn points in each. 

1.

Field placement: a) supervisor interim evaluation - 10 points, b) supervisor final evaluation - 10 points  total of 20 points.

2. Attendance at internship site - 20 points
3. Contact with Internship Coordinator - 10 points
4. On-Line Discussions - 15 points
 
Weekly journal - 30 points
Self-evaluation - 5 points
Tota points - 100
   

NOTE: Students must earn 80 points to receive a passing grade for the internship.

Your Responsibilities 
 
Take the initiative in the internship by seeking the types of work that will enable you to develop and expand professional skills.
Abide by agency guidelines for appropriate and expected employee behavior, including dressing and acting professionally and appropriately, reporting to work on time, and completing work assignments. Avoiding absences and maintaining appropriate agency records.
Maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor in all agency-related activities.
Provide own transportation to and from the agency.
Report in writing,  by phone, e-mail, or in person to the internship director at least every two weeks, detailing your progress in the internship.  Your journal entry must be emailed to the internship director once a month during the internship.
Complete a self-evaluation of the internship experience at the end of the semester and submit it to the internship director.
Maintain a detailed and reflective journal on your internship experience.
