Biographic Note:: Charles B. Fleming majored in science while a student at Arizona State Teachers College (now Northern Arizona University). He participated in the Orchestra, Band, Science Club, Spanish Club, Rifle Club, and Hiking Club. The Hiking Club, one of the most popular on campus, took a ¨long hike¨ annually. In 1934, students trekked to Keet Seel and Betatakin (now part of Navajo National Monument). Mr. Fleming graduated in 1934.
