The Beckman Scholarship
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation has honored NAU with a Beckman Scholars Program Award. During the next three years, a total of five exceptional NAU undergraduates will be awarded special scholarships to encourage and facilitate their participation in undergraduate research. Each award consists of $17,600 to be given to the student for the academic year and two summers of research. In addition, students are invited to attend an annual gathering of all the Beckman Scholars from various institutions across the nation.Junia E. McAlister Scholarship and Award Fund
Established in 1968 by "Miss Mac's" former students to honour her twenty-five years of teaching chemistry at NAU. One award, $400 minimum value, to a graduating senior voted most outstanding by the chemistry faculty.Nancy and Henry Wettaw Scholarship Fund
Established in 1995 by an individual to honor the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department for its excellence in teaching and research. Several awards, $1000 apiece, to a entering or continuing students majoring in chemistry with high academic ability. Continuing students must be making excellent progress toward fulfillment of a chemistry degree. Recipients cannot receive more than $4,000 from this scholarship during their career at NAU.Proctor & Gamble Science Scholars Fund
Chemistry or biological science majors at NAU who have expressed interest in attending graduate school in either discipline, 3.0 GPA or greater, junior or senior status. Preference will be given to minority students.To apply for the scholarships listed, contact the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
NOTE: In most instances, March 1 is deadline for submitting scholarship applications. Except for scholarships offered through the Honors Program, you must apply directly through the department. DO NOT USE the general scholarship application for departmental scholarships other than Honors Program Scholarships.
