POCATELLO, Idaho -- The Northern Arizona women's soccer team (6-9-0, 2-3 Big Sky) suffered its 14th straight road match loss Thursday afternoon, losing 2-1 in overtime to Idaho State (2-11-1, 1-4).
The Jacks' lone goal was scored at the 53:40 mark when sophomore forward Raegin Eyre headed in a corner kick by sophomore defender Kelly Flowers. Eyre's goal is her ninth of the season, surpassing her 1997 total.
ISU senior defender Sarah Moravitz tied the
match with 23:32 remaining, putting in a rebound of her own header,
which also came off a corner kick.
Freshman forward Brooke Pollard scored the match-winner at the
8:02 mark of the first overtime period for Idaho State.
The win was ISU's first conference victory and marked NAU's fifth consecutive conference road loss, dating back to last season. The loss damaged the Lumberjacks' Big Sky Tournament hopes. NAU now must at least win one of its final two league matches and get help from other schools.
NAU faces off against league leader Weber State (14-2-0, 5-0) Saturday at 2 p.m. MDT in Ogden, Utah.
