i. One way to improve this event is to…

Have speech at very beginning so people won’t talk during it.

Speak louder when on microphone

People didn’t really respect the speakers, but there isn’t really a way to change that.

Advertise more around school

Bring more students from all ethnicities

Have more attendance

Get more people involved

Invite more people

Get more advertising out so more people are likely to come

More people

Get the word out

More publishing

Bring more organizations to help students see the opportunities to look at.

Get more people involved

Have more booths representing groups you can get involved in. Not so late in the evening.

Have some club organizers for us to talk to about their organization

Promote more to get more people involved

Have more club members

Open it up to more of the campus—advertise clearly

Have a wider variety of students

More people

Invite more international students

Get the word out to more people

Try to get more club participation instead of passing out forms

Organize something to do: sports, games, etc.

Games/activities

Have a show or dance of different cultures

Do a multicultural presentation (Indian war dance, etc.)

Maybe do some more activities, games, etc.

Have more activities

Have more activities

Fun activities for the groups, i.e. icebreakers

Earlier during the day!

Make it shorter? I’ve got an 8:00am class tomorrow.

Make it earlier

Shorten it

Be a little more organized

Make it more organized

Have it be more organized

More water, they ran out

More food/bigger plates

Better food

Better food, more publicity!

Make sure food and drink is constant

Bigger trays and have table set up

Bigger plates and more water

Offer more food; door prizes

More food

Add different cultures’ foods

Have different drinks

Add different foods!

Offer international food! Not American.

Serve better food, play music

Change the food!

Speak about more serious issues

Go deeper into other issues (like obesity), rather than the traditional racial approach.

Ask more questions

Make small groups take up less time

Larger groups—20 or so people

Rotate groups

Bigger group interaction

Ask more questions in discussions

Have more groups

Have more rotation in the group

Better questions for discussion groups

Discussions rotate at least five times

Make groups smaller

Group meeting too long

Have more group leaders

Bigger groups

Have longer facilitation in group and more facilitators so there can be smaller groups.

Smaller groups

Make sure people in the group haven’t met before

Not have discussion as long

Get more rooms so you can hear people better

Maybe more quiet places for groups

Have better lighting in the room. Cultural presentation

Bigger room

Have more chairs available

Make mingling easier

Have chairs

Have more seating

Add chairs?

Have it in a smaller location!

Provide some seats

Better venue. More team building

Have smaller rooms so we can hear each other!

Have chairs for the discussion

Get room so discussion is easier to hear

I think this event was good enough

Perfect

No improvements

? Good job.

None

Great

Not sure

Connect w/in majors

Numbers and colors at the beginning

Offer more diversity of major

Have more free time with everyone around

Do more with all the students together

Dress in different cultural costumes

Have attendees bring along cultural items of curiosity to spark conversation

Put music on—DJ—party

Define people from other cultures and place them together

j. Other comments:

Native American student doesn’t want to have to go to a specific office or person for NA services. They would be interested in an intercultural dorm.

I love the MSC!

Good job at this reception.

Great program

This was a lot of fun!

It was a bit like in a kindergarten.

Have a nice day.

I really enjoyed the group talk. I felt I learned a lot about other peoples’ views on culture and diversity.

I had fun

I was discriminated in the Spanish Theater Club. The vice president and president gave me a low class row for one of their plays. I ran for Vice President for 2 weeks. I was the only one running; until they made an exception to the running deadline. The allowed a white Hispanic to run for vice president. On the day of the voting, the vice president and president were telling everybody to vote for her. Thanks to them I lost my vote. They didn’t promote me. This happened 2 years ago and I hope it doesn’t happen again.

Please stop native only advisors and financial advisors. We should have equal services.

Good job and thanks

Thanks

Good job! Have a nice day!

The instructor was really nice, outgoing, and seemed as if he wanted to make NAU a better place.

Excellent

Maybe do it in a bigger area where groups aren’t so close.
