Filing your Graduation Application
Complete the following steps to file your graduation application.These steps are listed in order of convenience. You may alter the order BUT you must complete all steps. Statewide or distance learning students please note separate instructions under "DistanceFiling" link in the previous page.
Incomplete or inaccurate applications will be returned to you to complete or correct. Graduation Applications must be completed using BLACK INK or typewriting only.
Graduation Applications submitted without proof of payment will be returned to you.
2. Advising Check Sheet- Pull your advising checksheet from your student folder (Student files for Applied Indigenous Studies, Criminal Justice, Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies are located in the SBS Academic Services and Advising Office. All other student files are located in the School of Communication Academic Services and Advising Office or the Department of your major.) and update to include all remaining classes required to complete your degree. Include classes for Fall 2006, Winter 2006 and Spring 2007 and Summer 2007 if applicable. Also enter any classes taken elsewhere and not transfered to NAU yet. Attach a completed advising check sheet for your major, minor and liberal studies to your Graduation Application Packet. This may be one form or 3 separate forms.
3.Degree Audit Report- Log in to your LOUIE Student Center
Account. Under Academic History is the link to Degree Progress. Click on that
link and print your degree progress report. This entire report is required
to be attached to your Graduation Application Packet.
4. Grad Check Transcripts-No Longer required for SBS majors.If
you are doing a dual degree or dual major in a major outside the College of
Social and Behavioral Sciences check with that department for their requirements.
5.Graduation Application- Complete your Graduation Application
using Instructions in this tutorial titled Complete
the Application . This is also where you will download the graduation
application.
6.Assemble Graduation Application Packet- Put completed Graduation
Application, Advising Check Sheet(s) and Degree Audit Report together and
fasten with a paperclip. Please do not staple.
7.Graduation Application Review- Submit completed Graduation Application Packet to the Office of Academic Services and Advising in SBS WEST, Bldg 70, Room 114, or for School of Communications majors to the Office of Academic Services and Advising in Bldg 16, Room 370A to be checked for general accuracy and completeness. NOTE: Your Graduation Application will be checked by the SBS Academic Services and Advising Office or the School of Communication Academic Services and Advising Office BEFORE you meet with your Faculty Advisor. Some faculty, however, may want to meet with you before you complete your Graduation Application. In this case, once you have met with your Faculty Advisor please drop your application to be checked.
8.Pick-Up your Application Packet-You may get an email or
phone call when your application packet is ready to be picked up.
9.Obtain Signatures- Obtain
signatures in the following order: Honors advisor (if you are in the honors
program), Minor advisor (if you have a minor), Major Advisor and Department
Chair. After obtaining all of these signatures drop your graduation packet
in the Director's Office for School of Communication and in the SBS Office
of Academic Services and Advising for SBS majors. Once the application is
signed by the Asssociate Dean, the application packet is hand-delivered to
the graduation office for processing.
NOTE:
You will receive an email notice to your NAU email account once the application
is processed by the Graduation Office. You may check with the Dean's or Director's
Office at any time after you have submitted your application for final signatures
to check the status. Congratulations, you have filed your Graduation Application!!!
