SBS Mission The mission of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) is to teach, discover, disseminate, and apply knowledge in the social and behavioral sciences. The focus of the college is on human connections: between students and faculty, academic disciplines, the college and communities, and people and their cultures. SBS helps students to understand the diversity and complexity of human experience, via perspectives that are informed by the scholarship of the social and behavioral sciences. The college fosters faculty who are true "teaching scholars," committed to undergraduate liberal arts education as well as professional and intellectual preparation of undergraduate and graduate students. The college encourages and supports research and service that is important to the local community, the state, the nation and the international community. |
