The Bachelor of Science in Photography offers instruction and guidance with a professional perspective in commercial photography and its related fields. The degree is designed to prepare a graduate for a career in commercial photography through a blending of academic and practical experiences. The courses in the major along with the communication core and electives provide an integrated approach to communication. In addition, a selected minor from within or outside the School of Communication will round out the professional degree.
Career Opportunities
Graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Photography are prepared for the professional field of photography. Graduates are taking photographs in the areas of fashion, outdoor, architecture, people, wildlife, products, sports, journalism, still life, food and automobiles. The entry into these fields usually begins with an internship or after graduation assisting a professional photographer. Other opportunities exist in related fields such as sales of photographic equipment, employment with photographic companies and graphic communication industries.
