welcome

Advertising is taught in the broader context of communication for marketing activities. Emphasis is given to both a theoretical framework which explains how and why advertising works, the applied aspects of writing ads and developing advertising strategy. This blend provides a perspective which is valuable for those entering the advertising profession. Historically, advertising has been limited to developing ad concepts or writing and producing advertisements. In the last 10 years, greater emphasis has been placed on integrating the communication process among marketing, public relations and advertising. This approach has been adopted by the NAU ad program. Greater emphasis is placed on an integrated communication approach.
