Brief description of research and teaching interests:
Lea Parker developed the environmental communication program at Northern Arizona University where she teaches environmental communication courses for the journalism, environmental sciences, and environmental studies degree programs. Her scholarly research in environmental communication topics have garnered her several awards. She has completed international research and writing projects for UNESCO and The World Bank. She is the co-director of the Environmental Communication Resource Center at NAU.

In addition, as a former newspaper and magazine writer and editor, Parker has published hundreds of news, feature, environmental articles and photographs.
