Brief description of research and teaching interests:
In addition to teaching journalism at NAU, I am the Southwest Editor for Backpacker magazine where I've worked for a decade writing a variety of articles on environmental issues, Southwest personalities and destinations. I also serve on the faculty of the Grand Canyon semester teaching a field-based wilderness course.
