I have been admitted. Now what?
- Contact our office at sbs.advisor@nau.edu using your NAU e-mail account*. Include within your email:
- your full name
- your NAU ID number (or SS number)
- your major and minor
- your phone number (with best time to call)
- your NAU e-mail account user name (usually your initials and some numbers)
- Have the following items ready when we talk with you:
- NAU ID number
- NAU email
- copies of your unofficial transcripts** (Please fax them to (928) 523-7185 with your name and ID number after the initial email is sent)
- the date when you will be on campus in Flagstaff
- Sign up for a transfer orientation session by calling (928) 523-0632
- these sessions have different focuses (e.g. transfer students with more than 30 units) and are designed to familiarize you with NAU
- An advisor from our office will call you at the number you provide in the initial e-mail with an evaluation of your transcripts. He or she will work with you to build a schedule for your first semester of courses. After you schedule is built, your advising hold will be removed, and we will enroll you in those classes discussed.
See our Transfer Student section under Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
*Your NAU e-mail account is used for all student and university correspondence for privacy reasons (addresses like abc123@yahoo.com can be anyone!).
**We request unofficial copies of your transcripts so that we may evaluate them and get back to you quickly rather than waiting for the mailed official copies to post at NAU.
