Macintosh OS X Setup

If your machine does not have a built in adapter, then check the user manual. The manual will tell you what adaptor you will need and how to install it. Most Macintosh machines have a built in network adapter.

Configure your network software

  1. Open "System Preferences."

  2. Click on the "Network Icon."

  3. In the Network window, select "Built-in Ethernet" from the Show menu.
  4. Select the "TCP/IP" tab.

  5. Select "Using DHCP" from the Configure menu.
  6. Click "Apply Now."

Getting your Ethernet Address

  1. Open the "Network" icon from your System Preferences. Select the "Build-in Ethernet" from the "Show" selection box. Select the "TCP/IP" tab of your network window and your ethernet address will be listed.

Register for ResNet Service

  1. You should now have a live network connection, but your access is restricted to the ResNet Registration page. For unrestricted access, you must fill out the online registration form. Open a web browser, and follow the instuctions. After you have completed registration, you need to restart your computer.
