Registration is only a three-step process.
Here's what you need to do to register. To
begin,
you must have a Network Adapter properly
installed in you computer and a Network Cable
connecting
your computer to the network. If you need assistance
installing your network adapter, check out
our E-Z Setup pages or call the Academic Computing
Help Desk at 928-523-9294 to schedule a ResNet
appointment.
1) First,
read and agree to the
NAU Network Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and ResNet
Guidelines.
2)
Next, add
your MAC Address to the list of registered
ResNet addresses on the registration page
that follows.
If your MAC Address is NOT filled in automatically,
manually enter the MAC Address in the proper
format (for example: 00:23:zq:84:92:e3)
for the computer you want to register and click
the 'Add' button. Click for assistance with
finding your MAC
Address
for Windows, Macintosh or for a gaming
device.
3) After
registering, just reboot your machine. Once
you have rebooted,
open a web browser and authenticate with your
dana ID and password onto the network.
Your computer will then be scanned for any
security holes in need of patching or virus
vulnerabilities. If you pass the scan, you
will be allowed onto the network, but if you
do not pass and are found having holes or vulnerabilities,
you will have 30 minutes to fix these issues
before being asked to authenticate and be scanned
again.
Note:
You may register a maximum of four machines for
use with ResNet. You are responsible for any
action that takes place on your machine, as described
in the Network Acceptable Use Policy for Students
and ResNet Appropriate Use Guidelines. Once
you've registered a computer, you can delete the
registration by clicking the delete button next
to the computer you wish to delete.
