NAU Association of University Residence
Halls
The purpose of the Association of University
Residence Halls (AURH) is to foster community within the
residence
halls of Northern Arizona University by being advocates
for the students on a local, regional, and national level.
AURH recognizes excellence as well as develops leadership
opportunities for students, encourages innovative ideas
and fosters traditions through conferences, programming
services, and community outreach within the halls and the
community.
In support of this mission, the AURH Executive
Council formed a ResNet Committee for the purpose of advocating
for residents on issues relating to ResNet and technology.
The AURH ResNet Committee has 10 members consisting of
the AURH President, seven AURH representatives, and two
representatives from Information Technology Services’ Student
Computing and Networking Team, reflecting the partnership
between Resident Life and Information Technology:
the cornerstone of the ResNet program.
The committee meets regularly to discuss,
investigate, and make recommendations to the AURH General
Council on
technology issues affecting the residence halls. Currently,
the committee is discussing issues such as bandwidth allocation,
electronic behavior, wireless networking, and
residence hall computing labs.
AURH is the representative council for all
of the 20 campus residence halls. There are 50 representatives
on the AURH
general council with each residence hall having up
to three representatives, depending on the number of residence
in any given hall. AURH General
Council also provides opportunities for ten independent
representatives to join AURH from various clubs, committees,
and organizations on campus. The AURH Executive Council
consists of the President, National Communications Coordinator,
Student Affairs Director, Public Relations Director and
Finance Director. If you have an issue that you would like
to bring to the attention of the AURH ResNet Committee
or would like to be involved in AURH, please contact your
Residence Hall Representative or Bree Stalhut, President
of AURH, by email or
phone at 523-9985.
The AURH office is located in Room 204 of the University
Union.
