Biomedical Advising

The Office of Biomedical Profession provides students with an integrated approach to the biomedical professions. We guide students as they prepare for a career in medicine, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, optometry, podiatry, pharmacy, osteopathy or any other biomedical professions. Our office also assists students who have not decided for which health profession they are best suited. The office contains a resource library of information and catalogues.

Academic preparation for the biomedical professions varies widely.  Some professions require a four year Bachelor's degree, some require a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree, and others such as medical school, require a Bachelor's degree followed by a four year graduate degree.  Several Bachelor's degrees and two Masters degrees in health professions may be completed entirely at NAU.  Students interested in continuing on in a four year graduate medical program will first complete an undergraduate degree at NAU, then apply for admission to the professional schools of their choice.
