The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Accelerated/2nd degree Option
requires full-time commitment to studies because of its intense nature and accelerated format.
To be eligible for this option, an applicant must have a bachelors degree
from a regionally accredited college or university and have met prerequisite courses. For this option,
you take 24-25 hours of preprofessional requirements. (Pease note that because you already have a
bachelors degree, you are not required to meet NAUs 35 hours of liberal studies requirements.)
After completing this program, you are eligible to take the National Licensure Exam (NCLEX)
for registered nurses.
The program is designed to be completed over a approximately 18 months.
Courses are sequential and must be completed as listed in program materials.
While you are enrolled in this program, it is expected that you will not work
more than 12 hours per week and that you will refrain from work commitments at least 8 hours prior
to class or clinical experiences.
Students are required to travel to sites throughout the state for clinical
experiences and will be responsible for travel/lodging expenses related to these experiences.
Clinical experiences may involve several weeks of 3-5 days per week at statewide sites. Students
will need to plan their family and work commitments accordingly.
