Bachelor of Science in Nursing - American Indian Program
The American Indian Program
provides residents of the Navajo, Hopi, or other American Indian Nations the opportunity to
pursue a nursing career. Located in the Navajo Nation in Arizona, this program is the first bachelor
of science in nursing program located within an American Indian Nation in the United States.
Students begin their prerequisite courses through NAU or local community colleges. Once admitted to NAU's
B.S.N. program, students continue to meet course requirements through the center, and
regional clincal agencies. Graduates are eligible to take the National Licensing
Examination (NCLEX-RN) for licensure and have the credentials to apply to graduate school if desired.
