Survey Results, ITS Annual Survey

Results

In late 2009 ITS conducted its first campus-wide survey, designed to be a comprehensive look at IT services.  It provided benchmarks and an overall look from which we have already begun to make changes and conducted our second annual survey in early 2011.  These reports will provide you with the feedback we are now working from. 

Inspired Changes

Among the improvements ITS had already begun or are in work as a result of your 2013 input:

  1.  Evaluate demand and propose a resource request to provide extended coverage hours for faculty and staff support.
  2. Complete the ongoing campus wireless upgrade.
  3. Transition the campus to Unified Communications giving the ability to have voice mail in email to reduce voice mail complaints.
  4. Work with campus functional departments to reduce PeopleSoft Financials adoption pain through coordinated support, training and business process and implementation improvements.
  5. Increasing storage limits for NAUshares (department storage) and Bonzai (individual storage) drives based on user demand.

Among the improvements ITS had already begun or are in work as a result of your 2012 input:

  1. An internal project is being conducted to define and improve Sharepoint support. 
  2. A wireless upgrade will commence Summer of 2012 and progress over approximately 2 years, providing “n” capability and vastly improved connectivity. 
  3. The renovated ITS Web page will continue to be refined for quantity, quality, and ease of locating content.
  4. ITS will continue to collaborate with the Portal Steering Committee to refine MyNAU content.
  5. NAU Alert improvements will include automatic renewal, single sign-on, and an opt-out decision to boost enrollment.
  6. Engaged outside consulting to resolve performance issues with Blackboard Learn.

Among the improvements ITS had already begun or are in work as a result of your 2011 input:

  1. Web page renovation will go live in July 2011 along with the campus conversion to the Ektron content management system and new NAU web design.
  2. Portal renovation wil go live for the Fall semester 2011.
  3. ITS will continue to explore improved communication and collaboration initiatives.
  4. ITS will continue to explore greater exposure of training opportunities available.
  5. ITS will continue to improve existing support for Apple users.

Among the improvements ITS had already begun or are in work as a result of your 2009 input: 

  1. ITS moved its Newsletter to online delivery in early 2010.
  2. ITS will be renovating its web page concurrent with the roll-out of the newly selected Ektron content management system, expected summer of 2010.
  3. A new LOUIE professional development training series was initiated, with very good feedback on the initial session.
  4. ITS will continue to explore improved communication and collaboration initiatives.
  5. ITS will continue to explore greater exposure of training opportunities available.
  6. ITS will continue to improve existing support for Apple users.
