Much like the operating system on your desktop computer, Northern
Arizona University’s student and human resources web systems (Louie)
must be upgraded periodically to take advantage of new features and to
maintain vendor support. We currently run Oracle PeopleSoft Human
Resources and Campus Solutions version 8.9, which reaches the end of
its support life in December of 2012. ITS launched a project this month
to complete an update to version 9.0 of these systems by October of
2012.
The vendor-delivered products have been highly modified to support
NAU’s unique academic and business needs, so the project will be a
major collaborative effort between ITS and many offices around campus.
Students, faculty, and staff not engaged in the behind-the-scenes work
of the upgrade won’t see any disruption of normal activities in the
system until cutover, scheduled for October 4th through the 7th, 2012.
Training for administrative users of the system will be delivered in
advance of go-live. For students and non-administrative employee use of
the system, there will not be major changes in look or feel. If you
