Recently, NAU experienced a particularly rabid phishing attack, timed for the beginning of the semester in an attempt to snag as many account passwords as possible. Fortunately, this time the malefactors gained little from their effort, but it's important to remain vigilant. So let's review a few indicators that an email or its associated website are not what they claim.
Thanks to reorganization inside the corporate offices at Blackboard, NAU is seeing some rapid deployment of new features and functionality inside Blackboard Learn, and they have worked with NAU to overcome some difficulties we'd experienced beginning mid-term in the fall 2012 semester. With better monitoring capability, more thorough testing, and a move toward fail-safe redundancy, subsequent releases will prove far more stable than ever.
Printing from your iPad on the NAU Flagstaff Mountain and Extended campus sites is cost-effective and easy. The iPad printing now available in our campus labs and can now be set up in your academic or administrative environment.
It is important to back up your documents and files because they can easily be lost or destroyed. You never know when your documents and files will get damaged by a virus, accidentally be deleted, become corrupted, or your hard drive fails.
Student Technology Center's New Look
The Student Technology Center has completely revamped its Web presence to present a unified, easy-to-navigate landing page to services. The new homepage for the STC is designed to give one-click access to the most common help topics derived from surveys, statistics of usage, and temporal information.
Occasionally, NAU faculty, staff or students need to share files with external organizations that are too large to attach to an email. How should you share your research results with a colleague at another university, or submit reporting to a regulatory agency, or share your video project with collaborators outside of NAU?
The Blackboard Corporation is now under new leadership and has taken a refreshing approach to system improvements.
