On October 8th, 2012 ITS will go live with
updated PeopleSoft (LOUIE) web services for student and human resource related
activities. Prior to the upgrade, the system will be off line from October 4th
through the 7th. This also
means any related systems that receive data from the PeopleSoft system will
experience a service interruption. The update will bring some changes but the
overall look, feel, and functionality of the system will be very familiar.
Faculty will receive more information via email detailing changes to the “faculty
center” and GPS. Staff may need training regarding changes to specific tasks, check
with your supervisor to see if specific training will be necessary in your
area.
Two issues are important for everyone to understand. The
first is that it may be necessary to clear your browser cache before using the
upgraded system. Browser cache is typically a folder on your hard drive that the browser uses to store frequently viewed information, which speeds up performance. Just follow these instructions on how to clear cache for various browsers. Also, if you
have set up favorites within the PeopleSoft system, you will need to redo them as they will not be copied into the new system.
