Setting Up a Connection to the NAU VPN

You can connect to the NAU VPN on any Android mobile phone by following these step-by-step instructions.

Step 1

On the home screen, tap the application icon in the bottom middle of the screen.

Tap "Settings" in the application menu.

Step 3

Under "Wireless & Networks," tap "More."

Step 4

Tap "VPN."

Step 5

You may or may not see the message in the above image at this point of the process.  If you do not see this message, proceed to Step 6.  If you do see the message, tap "OK" and follow the on-screen instructions to set a lock screen PIN or password.

Step 6

Tap the plus sign near the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 7

Type "NAU VPN" without quotes in the "Name" field, set the type to PPTP, and type "vpn.nau.edu" without quotes in the "Server address" field.  Make sure the "PPP encryption (MPPE)" check box is checked, and tap "Save."

Step 8

Tap "NAU VPN" in the list.

Step 9

VPN Android 9
Type "NAU\abc123" without quotes in the "Username" field where "abc123" is your NAU User ID.  Type your NAU password in the "Password" field.  Make sure the "Save account information" check box is checked and tap "Connect."

Step 10

VPN Android 10
You will be taken back to the VPN list.  You should see the NAU VPN in the list.  Underneath the words, "NAU VPN," it should say "Connected."  This means you are connected to the NAU VPN.
