Bookmark a webpage

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to the web page you want to bookmark by typing the URL into the address bar and pressing "Enter." In this example, we use http://www.google.com.
     
  2. Left-click the "star" icon on the far-right side of the address bar.
     
  3. You can change the name of the bookmark and the folder it will be stored in, or you can keep the default name and folder. When you are finished, click "Done." The current web page is now bookmarked.
     

Export Bookmarks

  1. Open Chrome and left-click the "wrench" icon in the top right-hand corner of the window.
     
  2. Left-click "Bookmarks" in the menu.
     
  3. Left-click "Bookmark manager" in the second menu.
     
  4. In the Bookmark Manager, left-click "Organize" near the left-hand side of the window.
     
  5. Left-click "Export bookmarks to HTML file" in the menu.
     
  6. You can change the name of the destination file or use the default name. Make sure the "Save as type" pull-down menu is set to "Chrome HTML Document." When you are finished, click "Save." Your Chrome bookmarks have now been exported to an HTML file.
     

Import Bookmarks

  1. Open Chrome and left-click the "wrench" icon in the top right-hand corner of the window.
     
  2. Left-click "Bookmarks" in the menu.
     
  3. Left-click "Bookmark manager" in the second menu.
     
  4. Left-click "Organize" near the left-hand side of the window.
     
  5. Left-click "Import bookmarks from HTML file" in the menu.
     
  6. Find the HTML file containing your bookmarks and left-click it. Once it is selected, left-click "Open." Your bookmarks have now been imported from the HTML file into Chrome.

Export bookmarks

  1. Open Chrome and left-click the "menu" icon in the top right-hand corner of the window.

  2. Hover your mouse over "Bookmarks" in the menu to open a submenu. Left-click on "Bookmark Manager" in the submenu.

  3. Left-click "Organize" near the left hand side of the window. In the menu that opens, left-click "Export Bookmarks to HTML File".

  4. Choose a name for your bookmarks file by filling in the "Save As" textbox. Choose a location to store your bookmarks file by navigating the "Where" drop-down menu. Both items may be left as default if desired.

Import bookmarks

  1. Open Chrome and left-click the "menu" icon in the top right-hand corner of the window.

  2. Hover your mouse over "Bookmarks" in the menu to open a submenu. Left-click on "Bookmark Manager" in the submenu.

  3. Left-click "Organize" near the left hand side of the window. In the menu that opens, left-click "Import Bookmarks from HTML File".

  4. In the menu that pops up, navigate to the location where your bookmarks file is stored. Left-click on the file, then left-click on the "Open" button.
