COURSE INFORMATION
A series of four internet-based units addressing Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Effects (FAS/E) and related 
issues are being offered for continuing education units (CEUS) from the University of Wisconsin-
Madison, Department of Professional Development and Applied Studies OR for credit at the 
undergraduate/graduate level from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Medical

General Requirements Needed to Participate in the Course
	Basic Computer Skills and Rudimentary Knowledge and Comfort Level Using the Internet 
	Ability to Spend Approximately 2 – 3 Hours Weekly On-Line (reviewing info, posting comments)
	Ability to Spend Approximately 1 – 2 Hours Weekly Off-Line (supplemental readings)

Technology Requirements Needed to Participate in the Course
	Email Account
	Access to a computer: at least a 486 pc (Pentium preferred) or Quadra level Mac with 32 mb RAM (64 
preferred) and 200 megabytes of free space on the hard drive 
	Access to internet and a Browser: at least a 4.0 version of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet 
Explorer (4.5 version isn't very compatible)
	Modem: at least 28.8 K (56 K preferred)   
	Operating System: Windows (at least 95), NT, or comparable MAC system
