Substance Abuse Program
The Substance Abuse Program works to:
Identify students who may be experimenting or using drugs or alcohol and are making choices that are impacting them in ways that are harmful (getting into fights or arguments; getting citations or probation at NAU; driving under the influence; going to court; interfering with school or work).
Identify students who have developed dependence upon drugs or alcohol and are in need of assistance in dealing with their addiction as well as support and resources for their recovery.
offer specialized services to counsel, educate, and/or refer students in need.
Services include:
Alcohol and other drug counseling
Substance abuse, assessment, and referral
Support and assistance for 12-step anonymous groups:
(AA, Al-anon, CoDA, NA, Others)Campus-wide education and outreach
