Dear Returning Colleague:

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for letting NAU students know about the Counseling Center's (CC; diagonally across from Cline Library) services and for making appropriate referrals to us.

We continue to work with students in a variety ways that include consulting with you about students.

If you would like copies of the CC brochures to handout, or have a member of our staff come talk with your department or agency about these services, please give me call.(I always find it helpful to put faces with names!)

Students receive an initial consultation with a counselor for free. Counseling services beyond this initial consultation have (very low!) costs attached; please see Eligibility and Costs for more specific information.

When you get time to surf, please visit our entire web site at www.nau.edu/counseling/. If there are other ways we can be helpful to you as you work with students, please let us know.

Thanks for your attention and for passing this information on to your colleagues and your students.

Sincerely,
Chris Gunn

PS: To get some perspective on what your students may be experiencing, I recommend Richard Kadison's College Of The Overwhelmed: The Campus Mental Health Crisis and What To Do About It (2004).

PSS. We've also created a brief and helpful guide just for Staff and Faculty.
