Internship Components


The internship consists of six parts and the students must complete to successfully finish the course.  See the sample syllabus for how this is done in a typical semester.

Your Responsibilities 
 
Take the initiative in the internship by seeking the types of work that will enable you to develop and expand professional skills.
Abide by agency guidelines for appropriate and expected employee behavior, including dressing and acting professionally and appropriately, reporting to work on time, and completing work assignments. Avoiding absences and maintaining appropriate agency records.
Maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor in all agency-related activities.
Provide own transportation to and from the agency.
Report in writing,  by phone, e-mail, or in person to the internship director at least every two weeks, detailing your progress in the internship. Participate in the online discussion group with other interns.
Complete a self-evaluation of the internship experience at the end of the semester and submit it to the internship director.
Maintain a detailed and reflective journal on your internship experience.
