What to Expect for Upperclass Participants

After your freshmen year, or if you join SSS as an upperclass student, the program approach and services will adapt to your needs.  Your Plan for Academic SuccesS (PASS) will guide your progress in our program each semester.

  • Professional mentoring after your initial intake appointment (intake meeting plus at least 3 mentoring meetings each semester)
  • Workshops geared toward getting more engaged in leadership, internships, study abroad or graduate school experiences (pick at least 1 each semester)
  • Continued financial literacy and money management skill development (online module requirement each semester)
  • Community service activities (pick at least 1 each semester)
  • All-participant events like a "Welcome Back to Our SSS Community" and an end of the semester/year Celebration
  • Plus tutoring, meeting with a Learning Specialist to enhance study skills, and personal counseling referrals

Sophomores continue to be eligible for the $500 participation grant upon successful completion of the semester requirements.

Successful SSS participants are invited to apply to participate in our Student Advisory Leadership Team (SALT) or the Chi Alpha Epsilon honor society.
