Research and teaching interests
In addition to teaching journalism at NAU, I am the
Southwest Editor for Backpacker magazine where I've worked for more than a decade writing
a variety of articles on environmental issues, Southwest personalities, and
destinations. I am also the editor of Grand Canyon Journal, an annual magazine and website published by Active Interest Media about Grand Canyon and the Southwest region. My most recent book, Resurrection, explores ecological recovery in Glen Canyon and issues surrounding water use and environmental sustainability in the West.
