Research and teaching interests
The evolving role of journalists in today’s social media
frenzy and how news organizations utilize social media conduits to effectively
gather and disseminate information; the codependency of media and politics and
its profound effect on society; sports journalism.

Representative research and creative activity
Rory has worked professionally in print, online, and
broadcast journalism for more than a decade, earning statewide and national
honors as a reporter and editor. He has a diverse journalism background, having
worked as a reporter, columnist, copy editor, sports editor, web editor, and
color commentator for media outlets in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Arizona.
Rory continues to serve as a correspondent for The Associated Press.
