Amy Dryden is a printing and design professional with a particular interest in social marketing - the use of marketing and advertising techniques to promote public health. She has a master's degree in public health from UC Berkeley and has worked on outreach and marketing campaigns for numerous non-profit organizations. She has special interests in the advertising and regulation of dietary supplements and in creating and promoting new markets for organic produce. After working in the non-profit industry for over ten years she returned to her roots in the printing industry, taking over her family's printing company in 2006. She has a broad range of practice in both digital and offset printing technologies and can view the printing industry from the perspective of both an insider and a customer. Her goals as a teacher are to introduce students to current best practices in design, print and marketing, help them develop the skills and abilities that will make them most marketable as they enter the workforce, and expose them to the broad range of career paths available to communications studies graduates.
