New Freshmen

The following terms are currently available to apply for housing for new freshmen:

  • Summer 2013 (May 2013-August 2013) - open to students registered for summer classes OR pre-registered for fall classes
  • 2013-2014 Academic Year (August 2013-May 2014) - the priority housing application date was May 1;  new housing applications will continue to be accepted based on space availability

To apply for housing:

1. Pay your enrollment deposit - Once you are admitted to Northern Arizona University, you will be asked to accept your offer of admission to NAU and pay the $325 enrollment deposit (which includes the $100 housing application fee). After paying your enrollment deposit, please allow one-two business days for access to the housing application.

If you try to apply and the following screen appears after you enter your user ID and password, your enrollment deposit is still being processed, and access to the application will be available the next day:

2. Apply online - Log into the housing portal using your NAU user ID and password. Then follow the step-by-step directions to complete your application

3. Make your Housing Rent Confirmation Payment (HRCP) – A $175 housing rent confirmation will be charged to your LOUIE account and is due by May 15 to guarantee your space on campus (by November 15 for spring-only applications).  This payment applies toward your semester rent.  For students who apply after May 15 (November 15 for spring-only applications), this payment will be due within 7 days of the date you apply for housing.  If you do not make this payment by the due date, your housing application will be cancelled.  

4. Select your room – if pay your housing rent confirmation by the due date, you will be assigned a room selection time based on your date of housing application.  Room selection for the 2013-2014 Academic Year applications will occur in late May through mid-July.  Housing options will be based on space availability at the time of room selection. Due to high demand for housing, late-applying students past the priority housing application deadline may be housed in temporary housing prior to being assigned a permanent space.

 

Students Under 18:

Prior to receiving a room selection time, all admitted students under the age of 18 must download and submit a copy of the contract terms including a parent or legal guardian signature and date. To ensure proper processing and efficiency when moving through the housing process we encourage you to submit the contract terms to Housing and Residence Life as soon as possible.  If Housing and Residence Life does not have a copy of the contract terms with a parent or legal guardian’s signature, the student may not be able to select a room.  View and print contract terms here.

Students 21 or over:

Freshman Connections halls are designated for incoming freshmen under the age of 21.  If you are an incoming freshman 21 or over, or who will turn 21 by the beginning of the academic year, you will be housed in an upper-division hall based on space availability.

New Transfer Students

2013-2014 Academic Year (August 2013-May 2014) - the priority housing application date was May 1.   Please note: Due to high demand for housing, we will no longer accept new housing applications for non-freshman transfer students as of 4pm on Friday, May 10, 2013.  To live on campus, you must submit your application before that date and time.     


To apply for housing:

New International Students

2013-2014 Academic Year:  The online housing application for the 2013-2014 academic year will close on June 1, 2013 for new international students.  Housing options will be based on space availability.

 

To apply for housing:

1. Notify NAU about your attendance - Once you are admitted complete the enrollment confirmation form online.

2. Apply for housing online - Log into the housing portal using your NAU user ID and password. Then follow the step-by-step directions to complete your application. A $100 non-refundable housing application fee will be charged to your student LOUIE account once you apply for housing. The 2013-2014 Academic Year application will close on June 1, 2013.

A $100 non-refundable housing application fee will be charged to your student LOUIE account once you apply for housing.  The 2013-2014 Academic Year application will close at 4pm on May 10, 2013.

CCC2NAU Students

CCC2NAU students are eligible for campus housing based on space availability and date of application.  The priority housing application date was May 1, 2013.  New housing applications will continue to be accepted based on space availability.  Due to high demand for housing, late-applying students past the priority housing application deadline may be housed in temporary housing prior to being assigned a permanent space.

 

To apply for housing:

1. Apply online - Log into the housing portal using your NAU user ID and password. Then follow the step-by-step directions to complete your application. A $100 non-refundable housing application fee will be charged to your student LOUIE account once you apply for housing.   If you try to apply and the following screen appears after you enter your user ID and password, the housing application is not yet available to you.
