Re-Submission Grant Support

NAU’s Health Research Initiatives (HRI) can provide review and revision advice for PIs who wish to resubmit health-related grants that have gone through scientific review and critique by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The critiques and recommendations for revision will be provided by individuals who have grant review experience with these institutions and/or have successfully submitted grants to these institutions as the Principal Investigator.

The review will require a very near final draft of the grant narrative, budget justification, and personnel sections of the proposal at least 2 weeks prior to the submission date. To request a re-submission review, send a copy of the grant proposal review request to Robert T Trotter II, Associate Vice President Health Research Initiatives.

NOTE: For resubmission review, ATTACH A COPY OF THE REVIEW CRITIQUE(S) TO THE RE-SUBMISSION REVIEW REQUEST

Criteria for Reviewers:

1. The review would closely follow the review guidelines for the funding institution, and be conducted by someone who is knowledgeable about and has successfully met those guidelines.

2. The review would be conducted, written, and returned within 7 days of receipt.

3. The review would be a “developmental” review (include suggestions for improvement, not simply identification of weaknesses).

4. The reviewer would be available for additional brief consultation prior to submission.
