Campus Recreation Services Signature Events are
collaboratively designed to highlight our most popular CRS activities, as well
as introduce innovative and progressive activities, across campus. These annual
events encourage participation from the NAU community. Our goal is to deliver a
refreshing and inclusive recreational experience to participants; ultimately
fostering fun, connectivity and healthy lifestyles.
Campus Recreation Services hosts a series of events in
October which helps raise money for the local non-profit Shadows
Foundation. Our PINK Week occurs October 18-24 and features a Dodgeball
Tournament, Splash N' Dash Race, raffle drawings, and other unique events
designed to raise money for the foundation.
Saturday, October 18th Splash N’Dash
The NAU TriJacks Sport Club organizes the 500 meter swim in
the Wall Aquatic Center pool followed by a 5k run around the NAU campus. Reserve
your spot today!
Monday, October 20th – Friday, October 24th
Intramural Sports Dodgeball
Gather your friends for a free entry into the
most popular dodgball tourney at NAU! This is a weeklong tournament and the
format will be dependent upon the number of entries. Teams are encouraged to
wear pink or white uniforms. Winning teams will receive custom high quality
champion shirts, which may also be purchased while supplies last. There will
also be event sponsors and a raffle. If you can dodge a wrench…

Wednesday, October 22nd GroupX Power
Experience maximum heart rate levels, booty shaking, and a
cardio party atmosphere during the variety of classes offered from 6-8pm! The rate of water consumption elevates
participants’ exercise intoxication levels within a short period of time! Join all formats for the two hours or
participate in your favorite! Donate $5
on site to participate in this once a year event!
Thursday, October 23rd Climbing
Climbing Wall competition stations will include top-rope
routes, climbing wall twister, and a bouldering traverse. Points are earned for each move on the wall
and bonus points will be awarded to competitors wearing pink or Halloween
costumes! No climbing experience
necessary. Register as a Beginner or
Advanced Climber at the Recreation Center front desk. Donations of $5 accepted at the competition.
Wall Aquatic Center Dive-In Movies
Bring your suit, towel and a friend to any of the Dive-In Movies throughout the year! Catch the next event on March 28th from 7:30-10pm: Sharknado. You can watch
pool side or float inside an inner tube. #wacattack and receive free swag!
Family Weekend 5k Partner Run, 2mi walk
Get your family up here for Family Weekend and take part in
the tradition of the 5k Partner Run & 2 mi Walk on Saturday, September 27,
2014! The Partner Run puts family
members together (ex: Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, etc.). The run and walk are
free! Register online by September 27th.
On site registrations accepted. The run
and walk will start inside Lumberjack Stadium (next to the Health and Learning
NIRSA Recreational Sports & Fitness Day
February 22, 1950 is National Intramural Recreational Sports Association’s
founding date. In 1999, members voted to proclaim this a day to celebrate and
share the positive benefits of recreational sports, fitness, and wellness.
NAU Campus Rec celebrates this day with the Louie’s Rep Challenge, Cycle-and-a-Show,
and Wellness Expo. Follow the events nationwide
using the hashtag #RecDay.
Outdoor Adventures Service Project
Join the NAU Outdoor Adventures Staff on a service project to clean and restore our regional environment. This spring, in a partnership with the Sierra Club Water Sentinals
program, Outdoor Adventures is helping clean up Fossil Creek on Sunday, March 30, 2014! Students will enjoy the picturesque scenery
of an Arizona oasis, while also doing their part in keeping the stunning stream
and surrounding area clean in preparation for the spring and summer
