Understanding Your Options
You may choose between the following two plan types:
- Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO) through Total Dental Administrators
- Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) through Deltas Dental.
Plans are the structure of your coverage: the premiums, deductibles, co-pays and in/out network coverage.
|Type of Plan||Description|
Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO)
In a dental PPO, you receive the greatest benefit when use providers included in the Plan's 'Preferred' network.
You may use providers not in the Plan's 'Preferred' network, but your out of pocket expenses will be greater.
Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO)
To receive any benefit under a DHMO you must use providers included in the Plan's 'Exclusive’ network of providers.
Non-emergency services received from providers not the Plan's 'Exclusive' network are not covered.
Networks describe the company that provides access to a group of providers(dentists, hygienists, etc.)
An important step in choosing dental a plan is to go to the vendor's website and review the providers included the network to make sure that they meet your needs. Per pay period employee dental premiums
