Scholarships

discipline, and more.
Tuition Waiver Scholarships
Students enrolled full-time are eligible to apply for tuition waiver scholarships through their department of study. Waivers of resident tuition are available to Arizona residents, and waivers of the nonresident portion of tuition are available to nonresidents of Arizona.
Graduate Assistantships
Graduate assistantships are awarded on the basis of:
- academic merit, or
- your ability to perform specific services, like
being a residence hall director or research assistant
Financial Aid for out-of-state students
Certain programs qualify students from specific western
states to be eligible for in-state tuition rates. Find out if you’re eligible
for the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP).
The NAU Good Neighbor
Policy is for non-Arizona residents living in Nevada, Utah, California, or
New Mexico within 75 miles of the Arizona border. You are eligible to attend
in-person classes at a community campus in Arizona and pay resident tuition for
up to 6 units.
Financial Aid for online students
Students who are not living in Arizona, are not classified as
residents of Arizona, and are taking classes entirely online may qualify for
discounted tuition through the World Wide University
(WWU) program.
Active Duty Military Rates
Northern Arizona University is honoring military personnel and veterans by offering Department of Defense Tuition Assistance rates for active duty military and National Guard personnel. The university also is offering in-state tuition for military veterans. The Department of Defense tuition assistance is $250 per credit hour for active duty military members, the National Guard and reserve forces personnel who qualify. Contact the Office of Military and Veteran Affairs to confirm your eligibility.
