2013-2014 Scholarship Criteria
All Arizona Academic Team
CriteriaPhi Theta Kappa, two-year
presidents, and community college state associations all co-sponsor "All
State Academic Recognition Teams" in 34 states. Students nominated
to the All-USA Academic Team are automatically named to the All-State Academic
Team.
Each two year college in Arizona
may nominate two students per campus to the All-USA Academic Team.
Students from Arizona nominated to the national team comprise the All Arizona
Academic Team. Nominations are based on outstanding academic performance
and service to the college and community.
Eligibility
All Arizona Academic Team members are eligible for
full resident tuition scholarships under the following criteria:
- Maximum of 60 undergraduate
credit hours, for a maximum of 10 semesters (excluding summer)
- Must be continuously in
attendance
- Enrolled in a minimum of six
credits per semester
- 3.25 GPA or higher
- Be seeking a first
undergraduate degree

Dean's Scholarship
CriteriaEligibility
For Arizona
residents only. This scholarship is
awarded based on the student's ACT or SAT scores and core high school GPA. It is $3,500 per year for up to four years,
provided the student meets the renewal criteria each year.
These
scholarships are not offered to Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)
participants since WUE is a better tuition rate than out-of-state tuition with
the assistance of a non-resident merit scholarship. However, freshmen from WUE states who declare
one of the three non-WUE-eligible majors can be considered for a Non-Resident
President's Scholarship.
Non-WUE-eligible majors are Athletic Training, Dental Hygiene, and
Nursing.
Renewal criteria
- 2.75 GPA
- Must be enrolled full-time
- Must complete 30 credit hours each academic year (including summer and
winter terms)
- Repeated courses (taken for the second time) do not count towards the 30 credit requirement

not met, the amount and the award are subject to change
Merit Scholarship
CriteriaEligibility
For Arizona
residents only. This scholarship is
awarded based on the student's ACT or SAT scores and core
high school GPA. It is $2,500 per year
for up to four years, provided the student meets the renewal criteria for each
year. The renewal criteria for this
scholarship are a 2.5 cumulative GPA and the completion of 30 credits each
year.
These
scholarships are not offered to Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)
participants since WUE is a better tuition rate than out-of-state tuition with
the assistance of a non-resident merit scholarship. However, freshmen from WUE states who declare
one of the three non-WUE-eligible majors can be considered for a Non-Resident
President's Scholarship.

Phi Theta Kapa (PTK)
CriteriaThis
scholarship is open to students who are currently attending a two year college
and who will be attending NAU full time the following semester as an
undergraduate, first degree seeking student.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Have completed a
PTK Application
- Attach
verification of PTK Membership
- Have no gap
between enrollment at community college and enrollment at NAU
- Be full time
- Have a GPA of at
least 2.50
To
be eligible, the student must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Once
admitted to NAU, complete the Phi Theta Kappa
Scholarship Application to be considered. You must also submit community
college unofficial transcripts.

President's Scholarship (Residents)
CriteriaEligibility
For Arizona residents only. This scholarship is awarded based on the student's ACT or SAT scores and core high school GPA. It is $6,000 per year for up to four years, provided the student meets the renewal criteria each year. The renewal criteria for this scholarship are a 3.0 cumulative GPA and the completion of 30 credits each year.
These scholarships are not offered to Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) participants since WUE is a better tuition rate than out-of-state tuition with the assistance of a non-resident merit scholarship. However, freshmen from WUE states who declare one of the three non-WUE-eligible majors can be considered for a Non-Resident President's Scholarship. Non-WUE-eligible majors are Athletic Training, Dental Hygiene, and Nursing.

This scholarship
is the only merit based scholarship offered to non-residents. It is awarded based on the student's ACT or
SAT scores and core high school GPA. It
is $7,000 per year for up to four years, provided the student meets the renewal
criteria each year.
These
scholarships are not offered to Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)
participants since WUE is a better tuition rate than out-of-state tuition with
the assistance of a non-resident merit scholarship. However, freshmen from WUE states who declare
one of the three non-WUE-eligible majors can be considered for a Non-Resident

CriteriaEligibility
For Arizona
residents only. The awarding criteria
are located at http://www.azed.gov/endorsement-tuition-scholarship/. This scholarship
is a 25% tuition waiver per year for up to four years, provided the student
meets the renewal criteria each year. The student will receive an iPad their
first fall semester after high school graduation. This scholarship can be used
with the Lumberjack, President's, Dean's, or Merit scholarship if the student
also qualifies for one of those scholarships. Any combined merit-based
scholarships cannot exceed the cost of tuition.

Resident Lumberjack Scholars Award
CriteriaEligibility
For Arizona
residents only. This scholarship is
awarded to students with a 3.5 core high school GPA, who also received NO grade
lower than “B” in their college preparatory (core) courses. This scholarship covers tuition only; it does
not cover fees or other expenses. The
Lumberjack scholarship is awarded for up to four years, provided the student
meets the renewal criteria each year.

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship
CriteriaEligibility
Students who
meet the university’s admission criteria and live in one of 14 Western states states
can receive a tuition rate of 1.5 times the cost of resident tuition. All
students are evaluated for eligibility during the admissions process - a
separate application is not needed. Eligible students, once admitted, will
automatically receive the WUE tuition rate.
Students participating in the Western
Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) tuition scholarship program are not eligible to
receive the President's Scholarship for Non-Residents.
2NAU
CriteriaStudents who apply to the 2NAU
Joint Admission Program for the spring 2013 term and beyond may be eligible for
the 2NAU Joint Admission Scholarship. This award cannot be used at other
universities or colleges. Qualified recipients will receive $1,000 per term for
a maximum of two consecutive terms (excluding summer), totaling $2,000. This
award is applied to undergraduate in-state tuition only. Total number of
scholarships awarded may vary depending on availability of funds.
Eligibility
- Admittance
to the 2NAU Joint Admission program and successfully transitioned to NAU
to pursue a bachelor's degree.
- Successful
completion of an associate's degree at a 2NAU partner college in fall 2012
or later, with a 3.5 or better cumulative grade-point average.
- Enrollment
as a full-time (minimum of 12 units), degree-seeking student at NAU in the
fall or spring term immediately following completion of community college
coursework.
- Arizona
residency and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and documentation of
lawful presence as described under Arizona's Proposition 300.
Other information
This award cannot be combined with
other tuition scholarship awards beyond the cost of the resident portion of
tuition. It cannot be applied to mandatory or special class fees, or to other
charges such as housing, meal plans, etc.

scholarship may impact your financial aid awards. Consult with a financial aid
adviser if you have questions.
Renewal criteria
The award is renewable for a
maximum of one term (fall or spring), provided the recipient has:
- Achieved at
least a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) during their first term
at NAU
- Successfully
completed 12 units during their first term at NAU
- Enrolled full-time
(minimum of 12 units) in their second term at NAU
