Bachelor of Science in Nursing program requirements
To
earn your degree at the Flagstaff, Tucson, Yuma, and reservation-based
campuses, you must
complete the following three components:
- pre-professional
requirements (at least 47 units)
- liberal
studies requirements (at least 35 units)
- professional
requirements (at least 73 units)
Pre-professional requirements
The following courses must be completed or in-progress in order to apply to the professional program. You must have a 3.0 GPA in these courses.

Liberal study requirements
You
must also complete 35 credit hours of liberal studies courses prior to applying
for the professional program.
Liberal studies courses required for admission:

requirements (25 units):
- Science - must include at least one lab science (7 units)
- Aesthetic and Humanistic
Inquiry (6 units)

- one additional elective
course from any of the liberal study requirements

Professional requirements
Once
you have completed the pre-requisite and liberal studies requirements, you can apply
[link to: 1.0.2 BSN admissions] to the BSN program. Once you are admitted, you
must take at least 6 units of support courses in combination with the 67 units
of sequenced nursing courses below.

Things to remember:
- NAU
requires that at least 30 units of the courses you take must be upper-division
courses (300 level and above).
