Chick Scott and Dario Travaini Memorial Scholarship as Established by the Arizona Flycasters Club

This scholarship was established to support students with a demonstrated interest in fish management, fisheries, or aquatic biology and conservation.

You must:

  • be a student at NAU with at least 60 or more credit hours
  • be classified as a junior or senior
  • have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (preference will be given to students with a 3.0 or higher)
  • have demonstrated competence in the core curriculum of natural sciences

Bayless Award

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology or microbiology.

You must:

  • have a GPA of at least 3.5
  • have 90 hours or above (with at least 45 hours at NAU)
  • have completed a significant research project that is near publication or presented at a scientific meeting

Deaver Award (for plant sciences)

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology or microbiology with achievements in applied plant sciences.

You must:

  • be an undergraduate or graduate student
  • be a permanent resident of Arizona
  • have completed 60 or more credit hours with at least 30 hours taken at Northern Arizona University

Derifield Award

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology or microbiology.

You must:

  • have a GPA at least 3.4 in biology
  • be at least a junior with 20 or more credit hours in biology and 30 or more credit hours taken at Northern Arizona University
  • be completing their senior year at Northern Arizona University and be a member of TriBeta who has been of service to the biology department

Junior Achievement Award

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology, microbiology or exercise science.

You must:

  • have 60-89 hours completed
  • maintain a GPA of at least 3.2
  • have strong achievements at Northern Arizona University

Rominger Scholarship (for plant sciences)

This scholarship was established to support undergraduate and graduate students majoring in biology or microbiology.

You must:

  • have an interest and/or achievements in plant sciences and be a full-time NAU student for semester of award

Richard F. Shand Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research in Microbiology

This scholarship was established to support students conducting research in microbiology.

You must:

  • be majoring within a program in the Department of Biological Sciences
  • be a junior or senior in good academic standing

Students interested in applying for this scholarship must include the following item with the application:

  • Description of research project and how this research will impact your future plans (2 pages, double-spaced, 0.6 inch margins, 12 pt. font)
  • Letter of support from your research mentor. The letter should be attached to the application in a sealed envelope, signed by the mentor across the back flap and with your name and "Shand Microbiology Scholarship" on the front

Senior Achievement Award

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology, microbiology or exercise science major.

You must:

  • have 90+ credit hours completed
  • have a GPA of at least 3.2
  • have strong achievements at Northern Arizona University

Slipher Award

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology or microbiology.

You must:

  • have demonstrated financial need
  • be an outstanding student in biology or microbiology
  • be attending Northern Arizona University for the semester of the award

Wick Scholarship (for purchase of textbooks)

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology or microbiology.

You must:

  • have completed 30-40 hours in your degree program with at least 15 hours taken at Northern Arizona University (sophomore)
  • have a GPA of at least a 3.5
  • have demonstrated financial need
  • be a full-time Northern Arizona University student for semester of award

Richard M. Pacius Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support students currently advised by the Bio-medical Professions Office.

You must:

  • be interested in pursuing a career in bio-medical professions
  • be a junior or senior, majoring in an academic program within the College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences
  • be in good academic standing

The Jack and Hanna Sisley, M.D., PreMedicine Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2010 to support students enrolled full-time, junior or senior, interested in the premedical professions–medicine or pharmacy.

You must:

  • be in good academic standing with minimum GPA of a 3.5
  • be an Arizona resident
  • have demonstrated financial need

Students that continue to meet the award criteria may reapply for this scholarship. Students must provide the scholarship committee with a 500-word essay on their aspiration to work in the world of medicine or pharmacy.

Exercise Physiology Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support students who are seniors (or have completed 90 or more credit hours) and are active in exercise physiology research and/or interested in career in exercise physiology.

Junior Achievement Award

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in biology, microbiology or exercise science.

Students must:

  • have 60-89 hours completed
  • maintain a GPA of at least 3.2
  • have strong achievements at Northern Arizona University

Rasmussen Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support students majoring in exercise science. You must:

  • have a GPA at least 3.25
  • be a junior, senior or graduate student with more than 60 credit hours completed
  • be provided or have provided active service in the area of exercise science

Dr. Bob J. Barber Memorial Pre-Med Scholarship

The Dr. Bob J. Barber Memorial Pre-Med Scholarship was established in 1995 to support pre-dental students who are Arizona residents as determined by tuition status.

You must:

  • have a cumulative grade point average of a 3.5 or above
  • have demonstrated financial need as determined by the NAU Office of Financial Aid

Carsten Cole Buckley Memorial Premed Scholarship

The Carsten Cole Buckley Memorial Premed Scholarship was established to support a full-time undergraduate pre-med student of junior or senior standing who is majoring in a scientific field of study and proven academic excellence and financial need.

The Karen Kraemer-Steinbronn Endowment for Biomedical Professions

The scholarship was established in 2003 to support students who will participate in an internship program within the biomedical professions by providing them with a stipend.

You must:

  • be affiliated with the Office of Biomedical Professions to apply for this scholarship
