Admissions
Requirements
You must have both:
- a bachelor’s degree
- a minimum 3.0 grade point average
Submission deadlines
You may submit your application throughout the academic
year. However, first priority is given to applicants submitting their material
by February 15 for the following Fall semester.
If you’re interested in a teaching assistantship or tuition
waiver, you are encouraged to apply by February 15 for financial aid purposes.
Application materials
Your application should include:
- a statement of purpose, 2-3 pages in length,
that describes why you are interested in obtaining an MA-TESL degree from Northern
Arizona University and how you intend to use your degree
- for non-native English speakers, official TOEFL
scores taken within the last two years; a minimum score of 89 iBT, 230 CT, or 570 paper-based is required for admission
- a copy of your transcripts with the application
submission (may be unofficial); an official copy of your transcript will be
required before beginning the program or being awarded financial aid
