You’ll receive an admission decision quickly, so you can spend more time preparing for college.
What you’ll need to apply
You’ll need to:
- meet the university’s admissions requirements
- pay a $25 non-refundable application fee
- complete the application— you may self-report if you are a freshman applying to attend the Flagstaff campus
- send your official ACT and/or SAT scores for scholarship consideration
- apply by the deadline assigned for the semester you wish to start:

Freshman (This application is no longer available for fall 2013 or winter 2013)
You have already graduated from high school or will be graduating prior to enrollment and have not enrolled at any college, university or other school.
Transfer (This application is no longer available for fall 2013 or winter 2013)
You're a high school graduate who has enrolled at a college, university or any other school since you've graduated from high school and you've earned at least 12 college credits.
Non-Degree (Open for fall 2013 or winter 2013)
You would like to study part-time and/or for personal enrichment only. (Your educational status is not required to study as a non-degree student at NAU.)
Post-baccalaureate (Open for fall 2013 or winter 2013)
You are a college graduate who has already earned a bachelor's degree and would like to continue your studies.

Freshman - You have already graduated from high school or will be graduating prior to enrollment and have not enrolled at any college, university or other school..
Transfer -You're a high school graduate who has enrolled at a college, university or any other school since you've graduated from high school and you've earned at least 12 college credits.
Non-Degree -You would like to study part-time and/or for personal enrichment only. (Your educational status is not required to study as a non-degree student at NAU.)

Steps to apply using these applications
1. Read and print the Application Instruction/Reference Guide before starting.
2. Set up your account to access the application.
3. Check your email to confirm your account. Click on the link in the email to begin your application.
4. You can return to your application anytime using your login id and password.
5. Once you have submitted your application you will receive a submission acknowledgement email with additional details on your next steps.

Copies of your official transcripts must be sent in a sealed envelope directly from your high school community college and/or university to:

Step 2: Submit your official transcripts to the university
If you are applying to be a freshman on the Flagstaff campus
You may self-report your high school classes and grades on your application. If you are admitted, it is on the condition that your self-report and official transcripts match. Send your official transcripts after you have accepted your offer.
If you are a transfer, graduate student, or other type of applicant
You may not self-report previous coursework. Send official transcripts and will not be able to self-report.
Step 3: Submit official ACT and/or SAT scores to the university

ACT and SAT scores are not required for admission, but are required if you like to be considered for scholarships.
You can submit the scores by having them sent directly to us from ACT or SAT (enter school code 0086 for the ACTs and 4006 for the SATs)

Once your application is received, you can expect to receive a letter to confirm that we are reviewing your application.
For Flagstaff campus applicants, admission decisions are made once an application is complete. You are encouraged to check your application status during the review process.
